The metro system has only two lines, A and B, which cross at Termini. Trains run approximately every 10 minutes. There are trains from 5.30am until 11.30pm every day ( Sat. 12.30 am ).

Tickets

Can be purchased from tabacchis, newsstand, bars, or vending machines at metro stations and major bus stops. There are three main types:

B.I.T. - Standard ticket - £ 1,500 ( euro 0,77 ), valid for 75 minutes on all buses and for one metro ride.

B.I.G. - Daily Ticket - £ 6,000 ( euro 3,09 ), valid for unlimited metro bus and train travel within the "Comune di Roma" ( This includes Ostia but Fiumicino Airport or Tivoli )

C.I.S. - Weekly Ticket - £ 24,000 ( euro 12,39 ), valid for everything listed under the B.I.G. Ticket.
